Who should conduct it?
Our Review takes every aspect of a Project Design into consideration. We complete our Review, from a Builders’ prospective.
A review needs to be conducted by someone with direct, hands-on construction experience — not a desk based engineer reviewing drawings theoretically, but someone who has managed construction Projects of similar project types, in similar environments. Ideally, someone who has experienced the consequences of the kinds of issues the review is designed to catch.
The same experienced professional, who also knows how to ask the hard questions, when a design has simple flaws, or simply doesn’t work, as the designers intended.
An internal review conducted by the design team, has limited value for this purpose. The team who produced the design has implicit assumptions baked in, that a fresh pair of eyes won’t share.

Virtual Construction and
3D BIM
Superior Design Review offers highly experienced specialists in both Design Principles and actual Construction.
A Virtual 3D Model is built following tried and true Construction Methology and Best Practices. This Model is used to catch as many of the usual expensive mistakes, normally found in almost every Construction Project. The Model identifies each issue in accurate 3 dimensions, and allows the design team to see each error and make corrections for pennies, rather than thousands of dollars.
Powerful software is used by our experts, to create an exact 3D model of every item that has to go into a new Project, from Concrete, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sprinklers, etc. and to figure out how it all fits together. Accurate material takeoffs can be preplanned, even before going out to Tender.
If the model shows something doesn’t fit, or an element is in conflict with another element of the building, the fix can be worked out on paper and much cheaper, than if is not found until the building is going up and you have to start replacing concrete, for many thousands of dollars more.
Design Coordination
Failure to Coordinate the Design is the first place where Project finances take a major hit. Construction projects are becoming more and more complex in terms of technical building infrastructure, materials used and mandatory design specifications. Design staff are constantly under pressure to push drawings out the door under limited time constraints, which often leads to things getting missed. Couple that with trying to match up the work from one design discipline with a number of other designers, who are working on the same Project and problems multiply quickly, along with the cost.
Our Design Coordination Team works with the various expert designers in collaboration, to create an overall vetted design for a project. Coordinating the many expert designers, their work and schedule support, is a major component of successful planning.
